Dr. Gervais FrÉchette
Dr. Gervais Fréchette obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Montreal, School of Medicine in 1986 where he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his post-graduate at St-Luc’s Hospital in Montreal and obtained his license to practice medicine in 1987 and soon joined a private practice.. HIV had now become an epidemic with few crusaders. Dr. Frechette answered that call by becoming one of the first HIV specialists and he is responsible for the first ever clinical trial of Saquinivir, the first drug in a class of drugs known as Protease Inhibitors that would eventually save countless thousands of lives. Dr Frechette's work proved to be the first real hope and savior for those suffering and dieing from AIDS. Dr. Frechette has regularly been on news programs throughout Canada and the World and he has also been a speaker at various world AIDS conferences as a leading authority figure.
In 1996, Dr Frechette moved to New York City and continued his work in private practice conducting clinical studies. In 2000; Dr. Fréchette opened his private practice in New York City’s Greenwich Village. In 2001, he was one of only a few physicians who went to Paris from America to be trained on the proper technique for injecting Sculptra. He is the only physician who returned several times for extensive training on cosmetic applications by the developer of Sculptra herself, Dr. Elizabeth Lazier LaGlenn.
Very quickly, the number of his Sculptra patients would go from in the hundreds to in the thousands. Outgrowing his first office on lower 5th Avenue after only three years, Dr. Fréchette moved his practice into a charming townhouse in the same neighborhood. To meet the demands of a growing West Coast clientele, Dr. Frechette opened a second office in San Francisco in 2004 which he continues to travel to every third week.
Over the next five years, his medical practice continued on the same growth pattern and it was just a question of time before he would need to relocate to an even larger space. His extensive work with Sculptra raised his interest in aesthetics and he went on to perfect techniques for Botox and other fillers like Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, Juvederm and others.
Dr. Frechette began his search for his new office two years before his lease was up finding just the right space in New York City is a challenge of it's own. By the time his townhouse office lease expired in 2007 and after a nine month renovation, Dr. Frechette had doubled his professional staff and opened the astonishing "Le Docteur" medical aesthetic clinic. This four thousand square foot comprehensive medical practice on Union Square would now offer an extensive list of aesthetic treatments and reconstructive procedures including general and specialized medical care, cutting edge facial fillers, Botox, revolutionary laser technologies and nobel prize winning cosmeceutical skin care.
